A little bit My entire life people have been bewildered about the pronunciation and origin of my last name. To clear up any confusion once and for all, my last name is Masaniai, pronounced Ma-sunny-eye, and it orginates from Samoa. [For those who have never heard of Samoa, it is located in the South Pacific Ocean. Click here to see a map.] As for the second part of my last name, Robert (no 's'), it was inherited when I got married. In 2008, I was married on a beautiful beach in Hawaii and one year and 10 days later my daughter was born. Prior to her birth I was a volleyball and softball coach at BCHS, but as many people say "priorities change once you have a baby." I still enjoy playing volleyball from time to time, but my new passion is watching her grow like a weed in front of my very own eyes. Shortly after her birth I decided to leave BC, my 'home' of four wonderful years, and try my hand at something new and different. I figured with all of the sudden changes in my life what was one more change? I taught at Independence High School for 2 years and although I enjoyed my time there, I was excited to take my teaching experience to YHS. I am looking forward to many happy years as a "Dragon." | |
