. Class overview: Biology is a cumulative course covering the building blocks of life to the complex human body. This year we will cover all of the state standards necessary so that each student will be prepared for the star test in April. Each unit is organized to follow a specific pattern where all standards and objectives are practiced many times in order for students to master the material. The schedule for each unit will be posted before the start of the unit. This schedule will include the days for each quiz, lab, assignment due date, and test. As we work on assignments and notes I will post copies in each unit. If any changes to the schedule need to be made, I will post them as soon as possible.
Expectations: I expect each student to be terrific, trustworthy, respectful, responsible, fair, caring, and practice good citizenship, while learning about the living world. I expect that students demonstrate the six pillars of character in every aspect of the learning environment in order to maximize their understanding of the material. It is beneficial for each student to have a 3 ring binder in order to organize their material for this class. I expect students to bring this binder to class each day in order to be prepared to learn. The binder can be used for other classes as well.
