In English II we willcover 11 units utilizing realia and the Holt Literature and Language Arts textbook.In the first semester we will learn about/review Informational Materials,Biographical Narrative, Characterization, Plot & Setting, Theme andExpository Essay. In the second semester we will cover Poetry, LiteraryDevices, Literary Criticism, Response to Literature and Drama.

My main goal for everystudent in English II is to pass the California High School Exit Exam with a 350or higher. In preparations for this exam we will study the elements of anessay, write at least four essays throughout the school year and work onwriting conventions and/or writing strategies multiple choice questions at thebeginning of class as the exam nears.
