Fast Track, ROP and other extended educational opportunities. |
Yosemite High School is a WASC accredited alternative high school . As an alternative high school, we can be creative in helping students to accelerate credit recovery so that they have the opportunity to return to their comprehensive campus. One way of doing this is through our Fast Track program. In Fast Track, students have the opportunity to earn up to 7.5 cerdits per class per semester, which equals out to 45 credits per semester. If a student does this, they can earn 90 credits per year. The catch to this is, that a student must be actively involved in their education by coming to school daily, behaving appropriately in class, interacting positively with others, completing all assignments, and if a student is absent, they must make up all assignments. In addition to Fast Track, students can also participate in Merced County Office of Education's Regional Occupational Program (ROP). ROP classes include: Graphic Arts Occupations , Careers in Education I/II, Careers with Infants & Toddlers, Business Occupations & Technology, Medical Occupations I/II, and Automotive Services I/II. If students are successful, they can earn up to 10 elective credits per semester in these classes. Yosemite High School students can also participate in the Eighth period Up-grade Lab. In this lab, students work individually on elective or required classes they need to earn credit in. Students need to contact Mr. Her to enroll in this class.
