 Capture Tool

Enhance your lesson activity by capturing a selected area, window or a full screen grab from your desktop. The captured image will automatically appear as a page in your Notebook file.

Select the Area Capture button.

Area Caputre

Click and drag your cursor to outline the area you want to capture.  Release pressure once the area has been selected. Your selection will be captured as a graphic and placed directly into your Notebook file. It will appear on a new Notebook page.

Area Capture Rectangular Capture

Press and drag to outline the rectangular area you want to capture. Release pressure after the area is selected.

Window Capture Window Capture

Press in the window you want to capture. Release pressure after the desired window appears as a hatched area.

Screen Capture Screen Capture

Navigate to the screen you want to capture, and press the button to capture the entire screen.

Freehand Capture Freehand Capture

Press and drag to create a freehand shape around the area you want to capture. Release pressure after the area is selected.

Digital Ink Layer Digital Ink Layer The digital ink layer is launched when you remove a pen tool for the pen tray and you are not in an Ink Aware program or Notebook software.
Floating Tool Bar Floating Toolbar Customize the Floating Toolbar, by clicking on the small starburstStarburst within the toolset.

Notebook Print Capture

 Print Capture

1 Open the file or Web page you would like to capture into Notebook software

2 Select File > Print – any application from which you can normally print will work

3 When the Print dialog box appears, select SMART Notebook Print Capture from the list of availablePrinters

4 Press OK to print to a Notebook file

Converting a PowerPoint File to a Notebook File To convert a PowerPoint, open up Notebook and click on File. Select Import and make sure it is set to find “All PowerPoint files.” Browse for your PowerPoint file and select it.
